How to properly care for your swimsuit so it lasts all season
Partager
Chlorine, salt, sand, sunscreen... summer puts your swimwear through its paces. However, a few simple steps are enough to preserve their colours, support, and elasticity for much longer. Here are all our tips to enjoy them all season long.
1. Rinse it immediately after swimming
Chlorine and salt are the worst enemies of elastic fibres. Rinse your swimsuit with clean, cold water as soon as you get out of the water, even before you get home if possible. This prevents the product from embedding itself in the fabric.
2. Avoid the washing machine
Machine washing damages the fibres and makes the swimsuit lose its elasticity. Always prefer hand washing, with cold or lukewarm water, using a mild soap.
3. Never wring it out
Wringing a swimsuit permanently deforms the fabric and seams. Simply press it between your hands or roll it in a towel to absorb excess water.
4. Dry it flat, in the shade
Direct sunlight discolours fabrics and weakens elastane. Dry your swimsuit flat, in the open air, in the shade. Also avoid the tumble dryer, as heat is just as harmful.
5. Be careful with abrasive surfaces
Deckchairs, rocks or certain pool edges can snag and wear out the fabric. Remember to place a towel between your swimsuit and these surfaces to limit friction.
6. Alternate several swimsuits
Wearing the same swimsuit several days in a row accelerates its wear, as the fibres don't have time to regain their shape between uses. Having two or three models in rotation allows each one to age better.
In summary
- Rinse with clear water after each swim
- Hand wash in cold water
- Never wring the fabric
- Dry flat, in the shade
- Avoid abrasive surfaces

With these few steps, your Nanayé swimsuit will retain all its colour, support and comfort, season after season.
